GA CLUSTER

Today we will check the GA Cluster! Take a look at the words below:

Oravia English
gafi less
gavio various, different
ganrih above
ganyu common, average
ganter rank
gaomem equal
gaolei value
gaolan balance

What do you think the GA Cluster is about?

We also have two subclusters, can you identify the sound and the meaning?

We just learned a word that is really useful, ganter! It means ranking, and we use it to make numbers ordinal. For example:

tam ganter = rank one = first
alui ganter = rank five = fifth

Finally, we learned another useful word, gaomem. It means equal, and we can use it in comparisons, like this:

run ga a nim a yalen = compared to you I am tall / I am taller than you
run gaomem nim a yalen = I am as tall as you

Notice one may also say:

run gaomem nim a yalen = I am as tall as you
a nim a yalen no run = I am tall like you

This last version reads more poetic and less precise. It means both you and me are tall, not necessarily the exact same height. In casual speech, both work well and you may use whatever feels more natural to you.

Ga is like English gauge.
