The YA Cluster is for objective qualities, things that can be measured like tall, big, solid. The YU Cluster is for subjective qualities, like difficult, perfect and special.
🌍 Fun Fact
Loa means complete and comes from Hawaiian loa (very much, extremely).
Dur is like Latin durus (hard, tough), which is reflected in word such as Spanish duro, French dur, and Portuguese duro.
